Accommodation Woodbridge | The Site

Based in Suffolk UK, Windmill Lodges is a small development of just seven authentic log cabins that are available for short breaks and week long holidays throughout the year. Our log cabin holidays combine the comfort of four or five star self catering accommodation with the delights of a stay in the country.

We pride ourselves in being a small, quiet site perfect if you want to getaway and have a peaceful break in the Suffolk countryside.

We have a small lake here at Windmill Lodges approximately half an acre in size with an island in the middle and reed cover around the edge. With our lodges situated in a semi circle around the lake, guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity it offers whilst spotting the varied wildlife our lake attracts. Please note we do not allow fishing on our lake.

Guests have spotted various owls, woodpeckers, kingfisher, buzzard as well as our more usual garden birds around the site, and you can sit back relax and enjoy the birdsong.

The site is also visited on occasion by muntjac and fallow deer can sometimes be seen in our neighbouring fields.

We are lucky enough to have various species of orchids growing around the cabins and these can be seen from late May to early July.

As well as the abundance of wildlife you will also find some friendly staff. Angela and Lisa can be found in reception and they are more than happy to help you make the most from your holiday – whether it be for advice on where to eat out or places to walk the dog! In reception we have some of the local items in your welcome pack available to purchase.

Located near reception is our 32 amp Rolec EV charging unit. Easy to use via the VendElectric app (charges apply) . We do ask you to supply your own type 2 32amp lead to use with the charging unit. T & C’s apply.

In “The Hut” is our Laundry/Tourist Information. In here there is a washing machine and tumble dryer for guests use as well as additional freezer space should you require it. In the summer months you will find a swingball and badminton racquets to borrow. If you’re looking for a board game to play a jigsaw to do, or a book to read during your stay please feel free to borrow from the library. Your Welcome Folder has a wealth of information, but leaflets on local attractions can be found in here too.

Windmill Lodges is ideally located and gives you direct access to the village green, at the centre of which you will find Saxtead Mill, a further amble cross the green will bring you to the village pub The Old Mill House, where you can enjoy a pint in the garden or daily carvery in front of the fire.

With such little light pollution and big Suffolk skies, sitting in your hot tub in the evening is the perfect place to take in our fabulous night skies and see if you can spot a shooting star or two.
