SUMMER AT WINDMILL LODGES

Summer is a great time to get away for a break in one of our lodges in Suffolk. With your own private hot tub, BBQ stand, sun loungers and plenty of space around your cabin you can enjoy your summer break without leaving the site.

But with so much to see and do in the local area, if you want to go out and about you really are spoilt for choice. With a wonderful coastline, attractions, great walks and wildlife together with a wide selection of festivals and delicious local food and drink, the problem you will have is how to fit it all in during your stay!

Many of our returning guests say the best thing about spending the days out exploring is that on their way ‘home’ to their log cabin they really look forward to relaxing in their own private hot tub!

If you are planning to spend the Summer at Windmill Lodges we have put together some of our favourite ideas of what you can do beyond our site during your stay.

A visit to the seaside

With so many places to choose from and all a little bit different from each other you will have a great time out and about along the Suffolk Coast. Just 30 minutes drive from our lodges are some of our favourite places; Dunwich, Aldeburgh & Southwold but there are plenty more to explore. Discovering Suffolk on Foot

There are some great walks near to our holiday lodges in Suffolk. One of our favourites is exploring Orford with a Suffolk Coast and Heaths Explorer map found here Orford has a great mix of wildlife, coast and attractions to see along the route. There are lots more walks and places to discover using these explorer maps and they are a great resource for discovering new places you haven’t been to before.

Go to a Festival

Festivals are not all about the music! Suffolk has lots of different types of festivals throughout the summer including book festivals, crafts and food and drink and a day ticket is a great option. That way you can take advantage of our log cabin weekend breaks and stay in a comfortable cabin rather than sleeping in a tent!

Visit a Museum

And for those rainy days – did you know Suffolk has lots of museums to explore? There really is something to appeal to everyone and with many museums over the summer running special exhibitions and events its a great time to visit and discover something new. More information can be found here

Go Searching for Antiques

Framlingham is just 2 miles from our lodges and has a few antique shops amongst its independent retailers, alternatively just a short drive away you will find Yoxford Antiques Centre or Marlesford Mill which have a great selection of antiques and are great places to browse while looking for that special bargain.

Or Just Relax!

Of course if you are looking for total relaxation you don’t even have to leave our site!
