Christmas and New Year is such a special time of year. Whether you want to spend it “just the two of you” , bring the whole family together, or spend time with friends. At Windmill Lodges you can celebrate in your way, and make some truly magical memories with the unique experience of staying in an authentic log cabin.
You will be greeted on arrival by your cabin decked out in fairy lights, all ready for the festivities to begin.
Step inside to find your dressed Christmas Tree decked with lights and baubles, you’ll be warm and cosy with the underfloor heating and gas coal effect stove ready prefect for cosy nights in.
Spend Christmas Eve stargazing from the warmth of your hot tub seeing if you can spot Santa and his sleigh making his deliveries.
It doesn’t matter what age you are, but the excitement of waking Christmas morning in an authentic log cabin, the Christmas tree twinkling with the presents Santa has delivered underneath.
Your lodge is fully equipped ready for you to prepare your Christmas lunch from roasting pans and serving dishes to gravy boats- and not forgetting the dishwasher to help with the clearing up.
Or if you prefer to take a break from the kitchen, why not take a stroll across Saxtead Green to The Old Mill House pub where Nick and Ruth will serve you.
After you’ve enjoyed your dinner, the choice is yours – take a stroll over the surrounding fields and countryside or relax in front to the fire, will it be a Christmas film or a game of Uno?

Week break Friday 22nd – Friday 29th December
or short break Saturday 23rd – Wednesday 27th December
Please note we also have a z bed and cots available which can be used in Greenfinch Lodge for a small additional charge.
Greenfinch Lodge is available for the New Year short break. If you are interested in staying or both Christmas and New Year please contact us for a price.
New Year Celebrations
Want to see in 2024 in a unique way? A New Year break at Windmill Lodges is the ideal solution. See in the New Year whilst watching the stars from your hot tub. To blowing away the cobwebs with a walk along the beautiful heritage coastline from Aldeburgh to Thorpeness or take a stroll down the pier at Southwold.
With New Years day falling on a Monday we are offering a unique Friday – Tuesday short break so you don’t miss out on any of your festivities.
We currently have Goldfinch and Greenfinch Lodges available for the New Year break.
