Why Windmill Lodges is Ideal for Your Summer or Autumn Break

If you want to get away from it all this year, whether it’s in summer or autumn then Windmill Lodges – providers of Suffolk hot tub holidays – is the place for you. Here are a few of the key reasons why.

Open for Business

We are now taking bookings again, although initially these will be subject to the ‘single household’ rule. However our largest lodge, Greenfinch, boasts not just a master bedroom but two further bedrooms and so can sleep as many as six people.

And if you want your pet to come along too, our Woodpecker and Wagtail are dog friendly lodges with plenty of creature comforts for your canine companion. And if your pet, or you, fancy a spot of exercise, then the nearby Suffok Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is the perfect place to go for a long, leisurely walk.

And whether you are interested in family fun, a day beside the seaside, or want to catch up on your local history, then there’s plenty to see and do in Suffolk. You can read all about your choices in our website’s helpful guide to the local area.

It’s A Safe, Secure Environment

You can control everything you want to do – all of our lodges are a fully self-contained environment, with fully fitted kitchens, a full-size cooker, fridge, microwave and dishwasher, so you can have all your meals on-site if you want to. Our luxury cabin, the 5* Kingfisher Lodge, also boasts a washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, a coffee maker and even a bread maker.

We are also taking all the necessary precautions to be in line with the latest Government advice relating to the coronavirus,  and have been accredited by Visit England (We’re Good to Go) and the AA (Covid-19 Confident Accreditation).

All the lodges are now stocked with hand sanitiser, and we have a non-contact arrivals procedure in place. For a full list of the latest protocols, follow this link. (Please note that the swimming pool is now permanently closed).

Don’t Forget the Hot Tubs

But rest assured, you’ll still be able to unwind by enjoying a soak in your own private hot tub, which all our lodges are equipped with. Studies suggest using a hot tub can help improve your blood pressure, provide stress and pain relief, and allow you to enjoy a much better night’s sleep.

And we have put additional cleaning measures in place. This means we’re asking you not to use your tub from 10am-12noon so we can keep them – and you – as safe as possible.

You Can Book with Confidence

We are aiming to reopen on April 12, in line with the Government’s current roadmap for coming out of lockdown. Bookings from that date until May 17 are currently subject to the single household rule. From May 17 until June 21 the ‘Rule of 6’ is set to apply, so we should be able to accept bookings from groups of six people or two households.

And after June 21 all the restrictions are due to be relaxed and everyone can come on holiday – whether it’s your family, your friends, or even your pet.

All of these dates are correct at the time of writing. And if the UK government’s latest travel restrictions mean your holiday cannot legally go ahead after you have booked it, you have the choice of:

  • transferring the booking to another date with no admin charge to pay;
  • being issued with a credit voucher;
  • or receiving a full refund.

Note that our COVID refund guarantee covers local and national lockdowns, but does not protect you if you contract coronavirus. We would recommend you take out travel insurance if you are concerned about this, or if you want to guard against the possibility of having to shield, quarantine or self-isolate when you should be enjoying your holiday with us.
