Short Suffolk Breaks

There is nothing better to recharge the batteries than our short Suffolk breaks!

In today’s high-pressure working environment with long hours spent at the office and exhaustive travel arrangements leaving little or no time for rest and relaxation, one week seems to very quickly merge into another. It feels as if the weekend is hardly upon us, before it’s time once again, to return to work. Small wonder then, that the weekend break is becoming an increasingly popular option for those wishing to relax, unwind and get away from it all, even if only for a short time.

At Windmill Lodges, we offer you the opportunity to do just that. Spending a weekend at one of our beautiful log cabins is like suddenly being told that it’s okay to kick back, relax and let the world happen. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside, each of our lodges feature a secluded, private hot tub, just perfect for sipping champagne under the stars and a large decked veranda with patio furniture and barbeque for alfresco dining.

Our award winning log cabins are built to exacting standards and beautifully furnished, offering well-equipped kitchens and modern en-suite bathrooms. Many of our cabins feature a sumptuous four-poster or king size bed and all benefit from a coal effect fire and under-floor heating. Constructed, furnished and equipped to the highest standards, the level of comfort they provide befits their 4 and 5 star Suffolk Tourist Board ratings

Many of our guests stay for the weekend, simply to relax and enjoy the surroundings. There is plenty to do on site, including swimming during the summer months, taking gentle walks in the surrounding countryside or just relaxing on your veranda with a good book to while away the hours in peace and quiet overlooking our wildlife lake.

However if you are looking for activities and adventure, you will not be disappointed. The historic market town of Woodbridge, with its many quality restaurants, boutiques and art galleries is just a short distance away and easily accessible by car.

Slightly further afield, but still within easy reach are the beautiful seaside towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. These coastline treasures are a joy to behold and offer great walks along miles of unspoilt coastline, many fine restaurants and some of the best fish and chips in the county!

Other highlights include the nearby towns of Framlingham and Orford, where you will find historic castles dating back to the mid-late 12th century. Now maintained by English Heritage, with audio tours and exhibitions, they offer a fascinating insight into the bygone days of fighting kings and chivalrous knights.

Also in the area is a range of sporting activities including a number of excellent golf courses, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and cycle hire.
