Family Breaks in Suffolk

There is plenty to see and do for all of the family whilst staying in Suffolk. There are many buildings of great historical importance in the area including the ancient castles of Framlingham and Orford and grand old houses of Glemham Hall and Seckford Hall. All within easy reach of your accommodation, they are well worth a visit. Farmers markets are held regularly at various locations, most notably, Alder Carr Farm, famous for its ice cream and Jimmy’s Farm, popularised by the TV show.

The county of Suffolk offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoor life and get close to nature with long scenic walks, biking or horse rides. The diverse woodlands of Thetford Forest make for a wonderful day out exploring and the walks along coastal paths provide a refreshing blast of cool sea air as well as some quite breathtaking scenery.

You could take a day trip to the picturesque town of Southwold, home of the Adnams Brewery Company. Whilst there, take a sea trip or river cruise from Southwold harbour, gently meandering down the River Blyth spotting rare birds and wildlife on the estuary. You’ll be amazed at the photo opportunities at this pretty seaside town and there are plenty of places for a good meal or cream tea in the afternoon.

If you do not wish to venture too far a field you can visit the historic town of Woodbridge. Just a few miles from your lodge, this pretty little market town boasts great shopping and entertainments, some wonderful art galleries and river walks.

Even closer to home you can relax onsite. All of our lodges are arranged around our wildlife lake providing fabulous views from your veranda whilst you dine alfresco or relax with a drink.
