Why take a self catering holiday?

Self catering holidays, are ideal for families, couples and groups of friends wishing to relax and get away from it all for a while, but why take a self catering holiday, over a break at a hotel or b&b?

The principal advantage is that of flexibility. On a self catering holiday, you do not have to follow somebody else’s schedule. If you want to sleep in, in the morning, you can. If you want to go out in the evening and return late, you can. Quite simply, you decide your holiday itinerary and are free to come and go as you please.

You also have full control over your eating arrangements. Meals can be chosen to suit your party’s tastes and budget, which can particularly suit families with young children. You can decide where, what and when you eat – making use of your lodge’s excellent facilities on some nights and dining out at local restaurants or pubs on others.

Facilities at the lodges

Our luxuriously appointed log cabins can comfortably accommodate from 2 to 8 people, depending on which one you choose.  The lodges are fabulously equipped and tastefully decorated, featuring everything you could possibly need for a completely relaxing break. Our cabins are fitted with under floor heating and coal effect fires making them extremely warm and snug, even in winter and have high quality bathroom suites. All linens including bathrobes are included.

The kitchens are fully fitted and include a cooker, a microwave oven and a full size fridge. There are also kitchen cupboards containing all the crockery and cutlery and tea towels you’d expect, to make your holiday experience as comfortable as possible. We can also organise an optional grocery welcome pack for anyone visiting without a car.

The lounge and dining areas are comfortably furnished and decorated to a high standard. You’ll find a colour television with free to air digital channels, video player and DVD. There is also a radio, CD player and free WiFi.

Each lodge stands in well tended grounds and features its own, private hot tub in which to share drinks under the stars and a barbecue with private seating, allowing you to enjoy long lazy lunches and alfresco feasts.

Food Shopping

The local towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge are well catered for in terms of shops and supermarkets and if you feel like going out to eat of an evening, they offer an excellent choice of Asian, European and American restaurants. If you prefer to stay home with something a little more traditional, there are a good number of farmers markets to visit, serving up some fine local fare.
