Log Cabin Holidays in the Heart of East Anglia
Are you dreaming of a holiday in the heart of the Suffolk countryside? Log cabin holidays are the perfect way to relax, unwind and enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Here is a look at just a few of the advantages which Windmill Lodges offers over other, less exclusive alternatives.
Great Facilities
Each of our authentic wooden log cabins has its own hot tub, screened off from the outside world. How many other holidays can offer you this?
Windmill Lodges offers the ideal way to get away from it all, in a location that’s full of atmosphere, but this doesn’t mean doing without all the comforts of modern life. There are TVs in our well-furnished main lounges plus some of the bedrooms and we also offer free Wi-fi, so, you can keep in touch easily as and when you wish.
With so much at hand right here, there’s no need to keep going out just to find facilities, as you might have to if staying on a less well-equipped site. For instance, there is no need to seek out a hot tub at a health club or spa, or to waste time searching for internet cafes and wi-fi hot spots.
As our log cabin holidays are self-catering, you get to choose when and what you eat, and cooking in our kitchens is a pleasure. The lodges all have fully equipped kitchens with full-sized cooker, fridge, microwave and dishwasher, and communal freezer facilities are also available. At Windmill Lodges, you can either eat indoors, dine alfresco on a patio in view of the communal lake, and you can also enjoy a private barbecue in season.
We also welcome the younger generation and offer plenty for them to do. Most of our lodges are suitable for families and we can supply additional child beds on request, plus child robes and towels as well as adult ones. Games, along with books, are available in our on-site library.
An Ideal Location
We are based on the outskirts of Saxtead Green, a charming Suffolk village with its own mill. Our site is only two miles from Framlingham, an attractive market town with a castle; and around 13 miles from the historic town of Woodbridge, on the River Deben. The world-famous Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon burial site lies just across the river.
Saxtead Green is also close to the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The resort of Southwold, with the Adnams brewery and olde worlde charm, is well worth a visit, while Aldeburgh is notable for its fishing industry and the world-famous classical music festival held at nearby Snape Maltings.
We have a range of leaflets on site explaining what and where the local attractions are and how you can access the nearest public footpath and cycle routes.
Small is Beautiful
Windmill Lodges benefits from being a small, family-run concern. This means you are guaranteed a friendly, personal service. Our office is on-site so if there are any questions or concerns we will always be on hand to answer them.
Varied Holidays
Our log cabin accommodation, which has either four- or five-star ratings, come in a range of sizes. Our Bullfinch Lodge sleeps four people, making it suitable for a family holiday, while the Chaffinch Lodge sleeps two and is ideal for short romantic breaks, or just as a way of giving yourself the chance to recharge your batteries. Our Kingfisher Lodge is a 5-star luxury cabin.
At Windmill Lodges you can enjoy short Suffolk breaks, a weekend getaway starting on the Friday, or a five-day getaway, beginning on the Monday. We are open for visits all the year round. Why settle for anything less?
