FAQs about the lodges

How can I book my holiday?

You can book online at www.windmilllodges.co.uk or by telephoning the office on 01728 685338. Office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday and Friday, 9am to 12 noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

On what days do your holidays start?

Arrival and departure days are Mondays and Fridays.

What time of year do you offer holidays?

We offer holidays throughout the year.

Do you accept Pets?

We only accept pets in our Wagtail and Woodpecker Log Cabins, in all other log cabins we do not accept pets.

What facilities are there on site?

Each of our log cabins has their own private hot tub. There is a swimming pool onsite (available end of May to end of September). Guests have access to Laundry facilities & freezer available (24 hours), Book & Games library, tourist information leaflets and information for walks and cycling. There is also direct access to local footpaths.

Do all lodges have a hot tub?

Yes each of our lodges has their own private hot tub situated off the veranda of each lodge. Hot tubs are available for use all year round .To enable us to maintain your hot tub to the highest standard we kindly ask you to refrain from using your hot tub during the hours of 10am and 12 noon. Due to the cleaning protocol your hot tub may not be up to temperature on the first evening of your arrival. On departure we may commence draining your hot tub from 8am.

Do you have a swimming pool?

We have a covered, heated swimming pool available for use from the end of May to the end of September

Where are you located?

We are located in Saxtead, a small village in Suffolk located just off the A1120 tourist route. The nearest town is Framlingham (2 miles).Our postcode is IP13 9RD

Do you have a brochure?

We have a leaflet and price list we are happy to post to you upon request. Our website is continually updated with news and photographs and also has prices and the facility to book online.

Do you offer short breaks?

Changeover days are Mondays and Fridays. We offer short breaks for 3 nights (Friday to Monday) or 2 nights (Friday to Sunday) or for 4 nights (Monday to Friday) or 3 nights (Monday to Thursday).

What is the shortest break you offer?

The shortest break we offer is for 2 nights starting on a Friday.

What are the check in & departure times?

Check in time is 4pm on day of arrival and check out time is 10am on day of departure. We do not allow guests onsite prior to their arrival time.

Do you provide towels and bed linen?

All towels, linen & bath robes are provided and included in the cost of your holiday.

Do the lodges have internet access?

WIFI is available in our lodges at no additional cost, however please be advised that due to the nature of our connection & our locality the signal may be weak at times, particularly in poor weather. Please note it is rural broadband and suitable for email and google searches not for downloading or streaming.

Can I make a group booking?

Yes you can make a group booking and all lodges are available with the exception of Kingfisher Lodge. A group booking is defined as two or more lodges that are booked to accommodate a large group of guests from the same party.

Do you provide for guests with accessibility needs?

Whilst we do not belong to the National Accessible Scheme, we do meet a number of the schemes standards. We always try our best to accommodate any requests where possible and recommend that you contact us prior to booking to discuss your requirements. This enables us to provide further relevant information which may help you decide the suitability of our accommodation.

What is included in the cost of my holiday?

All towels, bed linen and bath robes are included in the cost of your holiday. There are no further charges during your stay unless you wish to hire any additional items such as cots, highchairs, sofa beds or use the onsite laundry facilities.

Can I change the date of my booking?

Changes to the date of your booking can only be accepted (subject to availability) if the request is made no less than 56 days prior to the date of your arrival. This will incur a £30.00 handling charge. Any other changes you wish to make should be discussed prior to your arrival by contacting reception.

What happens if I have to cancel my holiday?

For cancellation due to government restrictions on travel you will be offered the folllowing choices: a) transfer the booking to another date with no administration charge to pay (subject to any additional cost being paid by you) b) a credit voucher for the value of monies paid on the booking c) a full refund. For all other reasons of cancellation please see our cancellation policy in our terms and conditions. We strongly recommend all guests take out travel insurance.

Can I add extra guests to my booking?

Yes additional guests can be added to your booking provided the number of guests does not exceed the maximum occupancy of your lodge. This needs to be arranged with reception prior to your arrival as there may be additional charges to pay for example occasional use bed hire.

Can I hire a cot & high chair?

Yes we have cots and high chairs available for hire. Cot hire including linen and towels is £10 and high chairs are £5 per break.

Do the lodges have a hair dryer and iron?

Yes.

Do your lodges have a car charging point?

Can I see more photos of the lodges?

Do the lodges have a barbeque?

Each lodge has a barbecue stand (available from Easter to October) suitable for use with disposable barbecues. These can be purchased locally or onsite (subject to availability) Kingfisher Lodge also has a gas barbecue.

We are celebrating a special occasion, do you offer any hampers?

Yes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Where do I park my car?

After you have checked in at reception, parking is available for you right next to your log cabin.

Can we have friends to visit us during our stay?

As we are a small quiet site we limit the number of visitors. If you wish to have visitors to your lodge during your stay, this has to be by prior arrangement only.

Can I book my next holiday before I leave?

Yes. You can take advantage of our special offer of receiving a 10% discount off the cost of your next holiday if you book during your stay.

Do you offer gift vouchers?
